The Seattle Mariners are sticking to their plan to wait on postseason promotions of deserving minor leaguers until after the minor league playoffs are over.

According to interim manager Daren Brown, who was the manager at Class AAA Tacoma until four weeks ago, it’s important that everything be done to prepare the minor leaguers for the big leagues.

And right now, he says, keeping them in the minors is a good idea.

“It’s important for the kids to go through what they are going through now,” he said. “You want them to play in big games. You want them to have a chance to celebrate when they clinch.

“Ultimately, we want to do that (celebrate) here in this clubhouse.
